New look for Crown Inn at Pooley Bridge

The Crown Inn at Pooley Bridge has re-opened following a substantial refurbishment.

The pub, which is located at the heart of picturesque village of Pooley Bridge, is unrecognisable from before, with a new first floor roof terrace which has stunning views along Ullswater towards Helvelyn and the Hartsop fells.

Inside, the bar and dining area have been transformed, a new riverside patio has been built and 17 beautiful new guest bedrooms give an ideal base for a break in the Lakes.

Its extensive outdoor seating area will be a welcome haven for guests, particularly in the summer months, and is already proving popular.

There was a surprise guest on opening day, when the Crown Inn revealed its new look, as comedian Johnny Vegas popped in while he was in the area. He happily posed for pictures and talked to guests.

General Manager Louise Van Delft said: “We are over the moon with the new look and we’ve had a fantastic response from our guests. We’ve managed to keep the old character of the building that everyone loved but added new features and improvements such as the roof terrace and bedrooms which just look stunning.”

Along with the new look, there is a new menu with fresh, seasonal produce that celebrates the region.

Louise added: “The inn has been designed with the Lake District in mind and this inspiration can be spotted in our menu, our landscaping and our décor. We want people to go ‘wow’ when they walk in and enjoy the views, and ‘wow’ when they sample our food.”
