There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. Or perhaps one of the many sporting events, such as the Ullswater Triathlon or the Epic Lakes Swim is more your cup of tea?

Nordic WALX – The Ullswater Way in one go!

Walk the whole 20mile route of the Ullswater Way Heritage Trail with our guide, Nic, to enlighten you on the 20 Heritage features along the way for added interest. The direction of travel, clockwise or anti-clockwise will depend on the weather on the day.
It could be wintery conditions underfoot, and boggy in places, so please wear appropriate footwear and good waterproofs with taped seams is essential. We won’t be far from the road at any point if you find the route tough, but it is always prudent on a long walking day to be comfortable with the distance, even though I understand this will be pushing the boundaries of most of our walkers!
Don’t be fooled as there is considerably more ascent on the route than most would think!
Total Ascent: just over 1400m!
Distance: 32km, although there are locations along the 2nd half of the route where you could jump on a bus if the distance beats you!
