Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. Try Sailing Taster Day

If you have ever fancied the idea of sailing, now could be the time to give it a go. Award-winning Ullswater Yacht Club is holding special taster sessions for all on Saturday, July 29, as part of the Royal Yachting Association’s national Try Sailing campaign.
You will be welcome to try your hand at sailing a dinghy under the friendly expert guidance of a qualified RYA sailing instructor from the club’s Ullswater Sailing School between10am and 4pm.
The sessions cost just £5 per person, the club will provide buoyancy aids and helmets – all you need is warm clothing, waterproofs and shoes you don’t mind getting wet. The taster sessions are for all ages, from eight to 80+, or younger with parents or guardians, family groups are most welcome.
Ullswater Yacht Club is the winner of two ‘Club of the Year 2017’ awards – named the best in the country by readers of Yachts & Yachting magazine and also honoured as RYA Club of the Year at the Dinghy Show in London in March.
The club is on the eastern shore of the lake around three miles from Pooley Bridge. It has stunning views of the lake, changing facilities and a clubhouse with galley for hot meals and refreshments.
