There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Needle Felt your own Herdwick Sheep Doorstop at Quirky Workshops

A substantial weight at 3.5 kg , the doorstop is created using various wools including that from the local Herdwick sheep. Annis is a highly accomplished needlefelter and her work is for sale in local galleries in Cumbria. She also sells needlefelt kits online.
There will be an additional charge of £18 payable on the day to Annis for the materials used. This covers not only the costs of materials but also the many hours Annis spends preparing each doorstop inner so that it is ready to be needlefelted – meaning a doorstop can be achieved in just one day.
