Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. The talk is to tell the history of the world- famous Greenside Lead mine, using old photographs, including the mine’s involvement with the American Civil War, the use in the 1890’s of hyrdoelectricity, its involvement in the late 1950’s in the nuclear test ban treaty talks between America and Russia, and other aspects.
- All tickets free, available on the door on the night.
