Best of British Season: Love and Friendship (2016) (PG)

Based on the Jane Austen novella ‘Lady Susan’ and set in 1790s London on rural English estates, Love and Friendship is a tale of matchmaking and heart-breaking. Refined and very witty, Stillman’s script is filled with sharp humour, much of it deployed superbly straight-faced by Beckinsale’s Lady Susan. Premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, this film has received critical acclaim and has been a box office success.
