Miller Farming
OUR STORY
We are Garry and Hazel Miller and our four children Amy, Tamar, Maisie and Kyle. We are a family run farm on the edge of the Lake District; we farm about 200 acres of land, 100 acres which we own and another 100 that we rent. We have sheep, cattle, pigs and free range hens for egg production. We also have sheepdogs, horses, beehives and lots of wildlife on our farm.
Our passion and drive comes from a love of animals, farming, wildlife and being in the countryside. One of our aims in opening up our farm to the public is to diversify and create an additional income stream. We are also very interested in educating and informing others on farming, as well as integrating new technologies and evidence-based interventions and solutions to better our farm. We also want to promote having more of a connection to our food, show the reality of farming, and share our philosophy of constantly trying to improve and then ultimately leave our land, farm and the wildlife that is a part of it in a better state than we found it.
Check out the Farm Shop, our animals on the farm and watch working sheepdog demonstrations every Thursday evening through the summer and much much more.
