Arragons Cycle Hire

Arragons Cycle Centre is run by Phil & Sarah with the help of a dedicated team of Sales Staff and Cycle Technicians in Penrith.  The business has been in the family since 1969 so we're well established locally & have long standing great relations with our suppliers, who are among the industries finest.

We have been offering Cycle Hire from the beautiful surroundings of Lowther Castle since 2018 when our venture coincided with the launch of a network of dedicated cycling and walking trails on the Lowther Estate. The stunning trails enable visitors, particularly families, to enjoy the beauty and unspoilt terrain of the Lowther Estate in Cumbria with over 30km of largely off road trails to explore.

Visitors to the Castle can hire a range of bikes, from trail bikes or, for junior riders, superlight mountain bikes to a selection of Bosch powered pedal assist electric bikes which are ideal for anyone who cannot face the more uphill stretches of the estate. Please note that after hiring bikes and exploring the trails, you can enjoy 10% off admission to the Castle & Gardens (including the adventure playground) on production of your bike-hire receipt.

In 2022, we launched a Cycle Hire Delivery service with a dedicated fleet of largely Bosch powered pedal assist bikes. This was due to a growing number of visitors who wanted to explore our beautiful area from their accommodation and enjoy car free travel during their stay. Delivery is available within 15 miles of Penrith.
