A Nordic Walk around the Ullswater Way

A Nordic Walk around the Ullswater Way

Nics Nordic Walks took their first guided Nordic Holiday around the Ullswater Way route over a long week-end in early April.

5 guests from Cheshire were excited to use their nordic techniques to take them around this iconic new route with magical views up and down the lake and up towards the Helvellyn mountain range with sneaky peeks into all the valleys leading away from the lake.

We also included a gear talk & navigation tuition by Charlie Sproson from Mountain Run, giving entertainment in the evenings and Ross from Lakes First Aid gave a very ‘hands on’ First Aid talk during an extended breakfast at 1863 at Pooley Bridge, which was followed by a fab tour of the Lake, as always, in the glorious Ullswater Steamers.  The guests were given very warm welcomes from the Glenridding Hotel, 1863 in Pooley Bridge & Beckside Farm B&B at Sandwick, where their last night was spent tucked away in this luxury B&B on the side of Place Fell and only accessible by foot (or quad bike!

Yes, the luggage is transported by the means of transport!) Fellbites Cafe in glenridding started the guests off with their first hearty evening’s dinner & the Helvellyn Kitchen in Glenridding provided a well earned pot of tea & homemade cake on arrival back from 3 days walking.  The heritage trail gave interest along the way, with Nic Sproson giving the background story of each feature as the route unfolded to our guests.
