There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. RSPB Red Deer with Ullswater ‘Steamers’

RSPB escorted private cruise from Glenridding to Howtown, then transfers into Martindale to witness nature’s spectacle the Red Deer Rut. Departs Glenridding 10.30am returns 3.30pm, £15 non-RSPB members & £13 members, children (5 to 15 years) half price, proceeds to RSPB. This is a very popular event and we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Please wear suitable clothing; bring a packed lunch, light refreshments are available on-board. There is a five minute walk with an initial moderate uphill climb, then a level path. There is a stream to cross so appropriate footwear is required. Please feel free to bring your own binoculars or scopes although good quality viewing equipment is on hand, supplied by the RSPB. It is a great day out for all ages and one of nature’s finest events. Dogs not permitted. Booking Essential
