There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. Plant Up – Lowther Castle

Are you a gardener? A foodie? A parent? Why not come to Lowther Castle on October 22nd and take part in a mass bulb-plant?
Bring your children, your gardening gloves, your shopping baskets; plant some bulbs, explore Lowther’s wonderful gardens, romp on the lost castle adventure playground, eat seasonal foods, buy bulbs, play chutney sports and enjoy a fabulous Sunday out.
Volunteer planters will be given free entry to Lowther Castle & Gardens. Places should be reserved in advance.
