There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy

Iconic round-the-island race the full length of Ullswater on both days. The event was founded in 1963 in memory of Lord Norman Birkett who prevented the lake from becoming a reservoir which would have restricted public access.

Camping/ campervans Friday and Saturday, live evening entertainment and food all weekend.
The winner will receive the Birkett Silver Salver and a night’s bed and breakfast for two at the Sharrow Bay Hotel.
Non racers can watch the action up close on Saturday on a special Ullswater Steamers Cruise. Book direct with the Steamer Company.
