There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. Hands on cobbling workshop

This is a ‘Hands On’ day enabling you to learn the skills associated with traditional methods of laying cobbles. A peaceful day with your square metre of ground in front of you and the materials and expertise to learn this age-old traditional skill.
You will leave with a good knowledge of the use of cobbles in hard landscaping, the different layers required – selecting the correct materials and learning the skill of locking the cobbles together to form a hard and durable surface.
