Dry Point With Joanna Bourne

Joanna, whose work is part of The Great Print Exhibition currently in our Gallery has been printmaking since the late 1980s and was voted “Printmaker’s Printmaker” at Printfest 2014. We are delighted that Joanna is joining us for a workshop on “Drypoint” – a direct method of printmaking where an image is scratched straight into the surface of a specially prepared printing plate. Ink is pushed into the lines created and prints are taken from the plate using a printing press. This simple process is perfect for anyone who enjoys drawing and would like to extend their practice into printmaking. This short course will show you how to transfer an image onto plate, create the image, ink up and print the plate on small etching press and you will also get to take away 4+ prints
