Discovering Pen and Wash – Quirky Workshops

Suitable for all abilities, this course offers an introduction to Pen and Wash suitable for all abilities.
Pen and Wash could also be described as Watercolour and Ink – it combines the subtle variable nature of the watercolour wash with finer detail picked out in black ink pen, allowing the artist different effects in shading and textures.
These effects also vary depending upon the type of ink pen used – primarily its water solubility and also stippling intensity and textures employed. The pen techniques alone are quite time consuming so meaning less time available for in depth colour mixing and effects compared to a watercolour course.
