DESCRIPTION:Begin our special day on the glorious Ullswater Steamers to Howtown\, before embarking on a journey into Boredale\, a lesser walked valley east of Place Fell. Spot the Red deer and hear their bellowing of the rutting stags. Before heading south and up onto Angle Tarn Pikes for hopefully a glimpse down into Bannerdale for more deer herds in full rutting bellows. Ullswater Steamer fair included in your ticket\, weather permitting.

SUMMARY:Dawn Walk to See & Hear the Red Deer Rut
DESCRIPTION:Join our special Dawn Walk into the fells above Ullswater to hear the extraordinary bellowing of the Red Deer Rut above the Martindale Valley. Using binoculars and time to spot the herds\, both near & far\, whilst we stop to enjoy your picnic breakfast (not included). Head across Bedafell before descending to valleys\, tracking the deer. Returning via Ullswater Steamer from Howtown to complete your day (weather dependent). Once we meet and start our day\, the route and distance will be dependent on the weather\, the deer and participant fitness levels. Our walk will be approximately 12km and 500m ascent.

Our guides and qualified local Mountain Leaders will be giving you the story of the Red Deer in these valleys and help you spot the herds near and far.\nYour walk will be a journey into the Ullswater Valleys\, learning as you walk\, whilst escaping everyday life you can immerse yourself into the life of our Red Deer. Each walker must be comfortable with walking on typical Lake District paths with some slightly technical walking\, albeit on trails\, with a 6 mile walk with approximately 600m ascent each day. Our qualified Mountain Leaders will be with you every step to guide and help and give tips to those not familiar with the terrain.
