SUMMARY:Dalemain World Marmalade Awards & Festival
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate our 21st Anniversary of the World Marmalade Awards which raises money for Hospice. Each year we receive over 3000 marmalade entries from Artisans and Home Makers culminating in the Marmalade Festival.  \n Meet Paddington Bear\, sample delicious artisan Marmalade\, browse craft stalls\, view the thousands of Jars of marmalade on display throughout the mansion. There will be talks by special guests\, bell ringers and Bjamba drum band.  \nTickets are needed to access the house and the garden and talks. Please see our website for details and to book.  \nFree Marmalade Shuttle Bus (Donations to Hospice\, gratefully received) running between Penrith and Dalemain. Timetable is available on our website.

SUMMARY:Garden Days with Shelagh Todd at Dalemain
DESCRIPTION:Shelagh Todd hosts a fun\, informative and practical course each month. Using the Dalemain Garden as a classroom\, she tackles a range of topics in the gardening calendar aimed at anyone interested in gardening regardless of your level of experience.  \nThe April session will focus on the wide range of plants providing seasonal interest in the garden at this time and take a look at what’s on the Dalemain To Do List for pruning and seasonal garden maintenance. Shelagh will also do a demonstration on sowing half hardy annuals in trays and containers and hardy annuals directly into the ground\, creating plant supports from coppiced hazel and willow and a presentation on Annual Meadows.  \nYou will finish the day with a Question Time session. \nThe course is run in the Mediaeval Hall and a delicious lunch is included.  \nFriends of Dalemain and RHS members get a 20% Discount.\nPlaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
