There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. Japanese Sashiko with Susan Briscoe Marking and Stitching Rice Stitch
Develop your stitching with designer and textile artist, Susan Briscoe. Learn how to mark and stitch the hitomezashi (one stitch Sashiko) pattern known as rice stitch, with ideas for many variations and related stitches. Workshop kits includes fabric, thread, needle and a worksheet, with extra thread and fabric so you can try out a variation at home. This event has been programmed to tie in with our annual Knit and Stitch Show at Rheged on 8/9 April.
