There is a fantastic range of events that take place in and around Ullswater each year that celebrate the rich diversity, local history, culture and beauty of the area. Highlights include the world famous Marmalade Festival, the popular Winter Droving, Ullswater Walking Festival or Ullswater’s very own Daff Fest. Garden Days with Shelagh Todd at Dalemain
Shelagh Todd hosts a fun, informative and practical course each month. Using the Dalemain Garden as a classroom, she tackles a range of topics in the gardening calendar aimed at anyone interested in gardening regardless of your level of experience.
The April session will focus on the wide range of plants providing seasonal interest in the garden at this time and take a look at what’s on the Dalemain To Do List for pruning and seasonal garden maintenance. Shelagh will also do a demonstration on sowing half hardy annuals in trays and containers and hardy annuals directly into the ground, creating plant supports from coppiced hazel and willow and a presentation on Annual Meadows.
You will finish the day with a Question Time session.
The course is run in the Mediaeval Hall and a delicious lunch is included.
